Warming Up to Wellness: Why Thermography Is the Perfect End-of-Year Health Check

December is a month of cozy sweaters, holiday gatherings, and looking back on everything the year has brought. It’s also the perfect time to pause and ask a simple but powerful question: “What have I done for my health this year?” If your answer is “not enough,” you’re not alone. Between work, family, and life’s daily chaos, preventive care often gets pushed to the bottom of the list. That’s where thermography can step in as a gentle, non-invasive way to gain deeper insight into your body as you head into a new year. In this post, we’ll explore what thermography is, how it may support your wellness routine, and why December is an ideal time to schedule a session. What Is Thermography? Thermography (also called digital infrared thermal imaging) is a technique that uses a specialized infrared camera to detect and map temperature patterns on the surface of the body. Because temperature changes can sometimes reflect changes in blood flow and inflammation, thermographic images may help identify areas that appear unusually “hot” or “cold” compared to surrounding tissue. These patterns can be used as supportive information in the context of broader health evaluation, especially when monitored over time. Unlike many traditional imaging methods: Again, thermography does not diagnose disease on its own, but some people choose it as an additional tool in their overall wellness strategy. Potential Benefits of Thermography in Your Wellness Journey While everyone’s body and health needs are unique, here are some reasons people are drawn to thermography as part of their preventive-care routine: 1. Non-invasive, no-radiation screening support For individuals who want to limit radiation exposure where possible, thermography offers a contact-free, radiation-freeway to gather additional information about their body’s physiology. This makes it appealing to those looking for “lighter touch” approaches to monitoring changes over time. 2. A functional snapshot of your body’s patterns Thermography focuses on temperature patterns, which may reflect blood flow and inflammatory processes at the surface. This can sometimes highlight areas of the body that may warrant further clinical attention or follow-up with your healthcare provider. It doesn’t replace structural imaging (like mammograms, ultrasounds, or MRIs), but it can provide a functional perspective that some people find valuable when viewed alongside other tests and medical evaluations. 3. Helpful for long-term comparison One of the most powerful aspects of thermography is comparison over time. Having a baseline set of images now allows future scans to be compared back to your “normal” pattern. Subtle changes may become easier to spot when you have previous images for reference. This longer-term view can be especially meaningful as part of an ongoing wellness plan, where early awareness and preventive conversations with your provider are key. 4. Comfortable and quick For many, the comfort factor matters just as much as the data. Thermographic imaging: That makes it a practical option for busy schedules and for individuals who may feel anxious or uncomfortable with more invasive procedures. Why December Is the Perfect Time for Thermography You might be wondering, “Why now? Why December?” Here’s why this month is such a smart time to schedule your thermography appointment. 1. End-of-year health reset December naturally invites reflection and reset. As you think about resolutions, goals, and intentions for 2026, including your health in that conversation is essential. A thermography session can: Think of it as a “health selfie” before you turn the page into a new year. 2. Using remaining benefits or health funds For many people, December is the last chance to take advantage of: If thermography is included in your wellness plan or paid out-of-pocket using pre-tax funds (where allowed), this month may be the most strategic time to schedule. (Always check your own insurance, FSA/HSA, or employer-benefit rules to see what is and isn’t covered.) 3. Getting ahead of the “New Year rush” Just like gyms get crowded in January, many wellness and imaging centers see a spike in appointments after the holidays. Booking in December means: Instead of waiting for January to “start fresh,” you’re walking into the new year with information already in hand. Can’t wait to see you soon.

Spring Into Prevention

Spring is around the corner, and it just happens to be my favorite season.  Why?  Because Spring is quite literally a renewing season. It is all about new beginnings and transformations; it’s a season that symbolizes starting fresh and starting over.  After months of cold temperatures that often result in many of us feeling the winter blues, Spring reawakens us and our surrounding environment, bringing everything back to life. This holds true with our bodies as well because our bodies can truly thrive during this season. Spring is the opportune time to start your prevention and self-care routine. This can be anything from detoxing your body, massage therapy, sound bowl healing and so much more. Thermography is an excellent way to spring into prevention. With inflammation being the precursor to all “dis-ease”, it is crucial to get a handle on where there may be inflammation in the body. Having a full body thermography scan done takes only thirty minutes and can detect potential issues 8-10 years ahead of traditional medical screenings. This means we have plenty of time to react and give our bodies what they need. It’s radiation-free, pain free, and contactless with a 97% accuracy rate. It’s also for women, men, nursing moms, and children. Some other things thermography can aid in detecting are: And so much more! Take advantage of this true healing season and start your own path to prevention and renewal. You will be so glad you did! Love and Prevention,

My Why

I wanted to share with you my evolution into becoming the woman I am today. A highly motivated teenager who became a driven adult with a strong desire to help people feel good about themselves. I was in my early twenties and pursuing a fashion career that I had dreamed of since I was a kid. Working in Manhattan for one of the hottest fashion brands was a dream come true. The hustle was exhilarating and so was getting to enjoy all of the opportunities NYC had to offer a young and hungry fashionista! I was doing my thing and essentially, living the dream as they say and then one day, I got a phone call from my father. He called to tell me he had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2002 just months before my wedding. This was a true defining moment for me and looking back I can see how it changed the trajectory of my path going forward. After months of studying Multiple Sclerosis, and searching for “cures” and holistic modalities that would help my father, I decided that health and wellness was a true passion of mine. I went on to earn multiple holistic wellness certifications and began coaching others on how nutrition and wellness could profoundly change their healing journey. I met amazing people, had invaluable mentorships, and soaked up all the information like a sponge. I should also mention that while doing this, I still had my full-time career in fashion, had just got married, and was pregnant with my son.  But as I mentioned, I’m a pretty driven gal and when I do something, I go all in because my need and want to help others propels me forward. Fast forward to almost a decade later, I decided to solely focus on being a nutritionist and health coach. I have worked with hundreds of women, men, and even teenagers not only educating them on the benefits of nutrition but cheering them on along their journey. So why Thermography? Because thermography is a truly amazing, full-body preventative screening tool that can detect potential issues 8-10 years before any traditional medical screening method. It is radiation free, contactless, and painless too. What better tool to literally add to my ever-expanding toolbox?  Thermography has brought my health coaching to another level, and I am so grateful to be able to share it with so many.  Whether you are a seasoned wellness person and looking for some additional preventative modalities or you are just starting to dip your toe in the wellness pool, I am confident that I can help you navigate what matters most to you and help you along the way. Change can be scary for some but what I often tell people is to lean into that fear. Because on the other side of fear, is a new healthier version of your beautiful self. I challenge you to break beliefs of old ways of thinking that no longer serve you. Let’s redefine what health looks like for you I believe in the power of the mind and the body and how they work incredibly well together. I believe that the body has an innate ability to heal itself in the right conditions. I believe that life is a journey and not just a destination. And lastly, I believe in YOU!

The Mouth Body Connection

As a clinical nutritionist and holistic health coach, I have always worked to educate my clients on just how important their oral health is to their overall health. Our bodies are so amazing and so completely connected.  In our society, we have gotten so used to only treating the part of the body that is in pain or not working properly. For example, we have an issue with our ear, so we go see an ENT (ear, nose, and throat doctor). Or our feet are hurting so we go to the podiatrist. We develop cavities and our gums hurt so we go to the dentist. What if you started treating your body as one entire whole unit and realized every single thing is connected? Let’s dive into oral health for the purpose of this blog. There is something called an Oral Systemic connection. Your mouth is 8 inches from your heart and only 3 inches from your brain. Most people don’t know this and if you think about it, it makes perfect sense. How could something that’s going on in your mouth NOT affect other parts of your body? If there is inflammation in your gums, where does that inflammation go? If there are bacteria in your mouth, where do the bacteria go? Do you see where I am going with this? What happens in the mouth, happens in the body. More than half of the population have some form of gum disease resulting in inflammation and infection which could then trigger disease and dysfunction in other parts of the body. Some of these systemic conditions include: As a thermography technician and nutritionist, I can honestly tell you that one of the most common things I see is inflammation and bacteria in the mouth that is draining through the lymphatic system in the body. Common misconceptions that I often hear: I have just had a deep cleaning, so my mouth and teeth are very clean. I’m here to tell you that while this is proactive and can be beneficial, once the bacteria are below the gum line and toxins have accumulated, deep cleaning will not help. The toxins must be flushed out and the inflammation must be addressed. Take a look at what oral inflammation looks like through thermography. It’s worth mentioning that Thermography can detect things 8 to 10 years before traditional medical screenings. So, prevention is the key to making sure your oral health is being maintained because…. It’s part of your overall health.  The mouth is not an isolated ecosystem, but an integral part of your immune system. So what can you do to ensure you are optimizing your oral health and maintaining your overall health? Looking forward to seeing you! Love and Health, Xo Jeanine DiAngelo

What is the Lymphatic system… and why is it so important?

Our lymphatic system is quite literally the ‘drain’ of our body, the sewerage system that works to remove toxins and debris from our bodily tissues. It also delivers nutrients and immune enhancing cells to our tissues and is truly a key player in the body’s immunity.  You can see from the image that this system is an extensive network of vessels, nodes and ducts that pass through almost all bodily tissues. It allows the circulation of a fluid called Lymph through the body in a similar way to blood. It also assists in transporting fat, fighting infections, and removing excess fluid and plays a key role in intestinal function. The lymphatic system is pretty easy to maintain but most of us forget or often don’t take the time to pamper this amazing system. If it gets clogged up, then it can wreak havoc on our health and affect our immune system and cause us to feel unwell. Here are some signs that you need to cleanse your lymphatic system: Do any of these resonate with you?   Here are some quick and easy things you can do to cleanse your lymphatic system Winter is almost here and guess what?? We tend to become a little more stagnant in the winter. Our instincts are to stay warm, eat warming foods and maybe not move as much as we normally do. This means our lymph system isn’t flowing as well as it should be.  Remember, this system directly affects our immune system as the body is a whole and everything is connected. Pretty fascinating right?? Thermography is an incredible tool and among many other things, it has the ability to detect lymphatic drainage issues.  So let’s get ahead of it and set our sights on prevention.
